People can also ask questions about everyday things in life. I will try to answer in a non-jackassery way. No guarantees though.

Question #1
I am 24 and graduated from college with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice. I am currently living with my parents. They are a bit controlling and hate resistance from me. I grew up doing everything they told me with no personal opinions of my own, until I met my fiance a year ago. He has helped me gain the strength to speak up and let my thoughts be known.

We’re trying to save enough money to live together. Mom has made it clear that she doesn’t like that idea because we’re not married yet. She and Dad are also unhappy that I no longer want to work in the field my degree is in. (I worked for a sheriff’s office for a couple of months and was treated horribly, then I was fired.)

I have told my parents repeatedly that this is my life, but it seems to do no good. Do you have any suggestions on what I should say to them about these issues?- BB

Answer
You’re a grown ass woman! Do what you want? What took you 24 years to figure this out? Just tell your parents you gots to go! They will deal. Also what did you do to get fired from a sheriff’s department? I’ve seen sheriff’s kill people and never get fired. You must have done some serious shit! Next question…

Question #2
I am planning a trip to Thailand next year and would like to find a traveling partner. I don’t care whether the person is male or female. My plan is to visit the country and rent a cabin for a month. My interest is solely to share expenses and have a platonic relationship with my travelmate because going alone is very expensive. Thanks for whatever input you can give me. –DR

Answer
A few things… What is wrong with you?! Travelling with a stranger is crazy! You don’t know what other people’s motives are. You don’t know what they will want to talk about, eat, if they snore, listen to Backstreet Boys etc. I would suggest not doing this. Also I would not suggest going to Thailand because that tells everyone you are a child molester. Next question…

Question #3
I am a 19-year-old student taking courses at a community college. One of my classes is taught by a great professor who also works at a state college teaching other teachers.
After an evening class with him one night, I returned to the classroom because I forgot something and ended up walking with him back to the parking lot. While putting stuff into my car I saw him get into another student’s car. I waited a while without them realizing I was there and ended up seeing my professor and this student smoking weed and fooling around.
I feel angry and betrayed knowing he would put his career in danger. They are both consenting adults, but I don’t know whether I should report it or not. What do you think? –SP

Answer
What is wrong with you? This guy is an adult. Was he hurting you? Was he hurting anyone else? NO! To me it sounds like you wanted in the circle for a little puff puff pass. You were probably that guy who never went to prom, was always picked last in gym, and made lots of lists. Take it down a notch and remember that snitches get stitches.
